Chala
Chala welcomes you
Located just 170 km south of Nasca, the tiny original fishing village of Chala offers you the opportunity to stop off for your trip to Arequipa, or your return trip to Lima for an overnight stay while visiting the archaeological site of Puerto Inka.
The branch to Puerto Inca is signposted on the Panamericana Súr and is located about 10 kilometers north of Chala when driving towards Nasca / Lima, at about kilometer 603 along the Panamericana Súr. From there, a gravel road leads down to the bay of Puerto Inka, where a small hotel complex stands.
Next to the hotel grounds are the ruins with an Inca cemetery. The area is dotted with grave caves below the surface and the open burial chambers are not particularly restricted. So Ihne offers a free way to visit this facility. Please, however, proceed with the necessary caution and prudence when entering the plant, because a fall in one of these graves can also mean the premature end of your journey.
Chala offers quite good overnight stays in hotels. We were already several times in Chala and also Puerto Inka. As everywhere along the coast of Peru you can enjoy here very cheap fresh fish dishes.
