The award is somewhat controversial (because it is not available for men), but the winner is interesting: Peruvian Pía León has been declared “Best Female Chef in the World”. Der Spiegel/dpa describes the decision, details about the philosophy of the 34-year-old can be found in the portrait at The World’s 50 Best: León focuses mainly on colorful dishes, based on food from Peru – and no dish has more than four ingredients (although spices probably don’t count, I think). Impressive photos of her food can be found at Fine Dining Lovers and on the Instagram page of her restaurant, Kjolle in Lima.
