TORRE METALLICA
Overview to the Nasca Lines
The Nasca Lines are more than 2000 years old, according to research. In many minds of historians and archaeologists, who have been dealing with these lines for centuries, even today there is no consensus about how or why they were created. If you do not have a lot of time to fly over the Nasca lines, you can still see some of the Nasca lines up to the lookout tower. Shortly after visiting the Museo Maria Reiche, they pass the Torre Metallica, the metal lookout tower, right on the Panamericana Súr.
The tower is 13 meters high and that’s enough to see the baseline of three of the Nasca figures. You will not be as impressed as if you had seen them off the plane, but this is a much closer and more personal way to see the lines.
Since 2018/19, a new and slightly taller tower has been built, which allows an better overview.
